Oklahoma ranks #1 in the incarceration of women. On April 30, 2010, a coalition came together to adopt a plan of action.

The Oklahoma Solutions Initiative Summit was hosted by the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women, the Oklahoma Women’s Coalition and the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Partners included individuals and organizations from across the state.

The result was an action plan to reduce the rate to the national average by 2020.
